Troubleshoot Your Solio

We encourage you to begin by watching the Solio how to video here:

The video is for BOLT but the operation is the same for the Classic2 and HUB. This will be sure that we are on the same page in terms of operation when you contact us. Often following the steps in the video correct reported problems.

To help you troubleshoot we need to know what is happening with the LED lights.

  1. When you charge the Solio by USB overnight is it able to discharge to your devices?
  2. When your press the LED button on the Solio what happens?
  3. When you place the Solio in the sun, what happens with the LED button.

Lastly, please think about if the solar charging location you are using is shade free all day? Or does the sun get blocked for part or all of the day? If having trouble with solar charging, how frequently are you moving the Solio to new position to follow the sun movement during the day? Your Solio requires direct sunlight and cannot be effectively powered from behind glass.

Care For Your Solio

The best way to care for your Solio is to use it.

Your Solio has an integrated battery pack. For proper maintenance of a lithium-based battery, it’s important to keep the electrons in it moving occasionally. Be sure to go through at least one charge cycle per month (charging the Solio battery to 100% and then completely discharging it to another device).

Dirty solar panels are less effective!

Dirty or scratched solar panels lose their efficiency. Luckily it is not hard to keep your Solio solar panels clean.Use a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth. Abrasive cloths, paper towels, and similar items may cause damage. Don't use window cleaners, solvents, alcohol, ammonia, or abrasives. The Solio drawstring Microfiber bag is the perfect carrying case for any Solio and the microfiber material can be used to clean and polish Solio solar panels.

We designed each Solio around its weakest components therefore the rechargeable Li-poly battery is easily enduser replaceable.

At the end of 300 or more charging cycles, the Solio battery will have reduced energy storage capacity. All batteries cycle out eventually and if you have not charged and discharged your Solio once a month to keep the battery active the battery may experience permanent capacity loss; which as the name implies, refers to permanent loss that is not recoverable by charging.rechargeable Li-poly battery is easily end- user replaceable.
